At GEIST, we make clothing and accessories that we are proud to produce and that you can be proud to wear. This means taking into consideration everyone and everything that may be impacted in the process, minimising that impact wherever possible.

As we grow, we will continually push to be more ethical and more sustainable, with a goal to become not only world leaders in this space, but to innovate and rethink what it even means to be a conscious company.

MATERIALS
All our garments are made from 100% organic cotton that is GOTS certified. The absence of chemical intervention in the process of growing cotton has a huge impact on the workers in the fields, taking away exposure to potentially dangerous pesticides as they work.

The lifespan of a garment is a very important component of sustainability. In order to give your garment the longest life possible, we currently use small amounts of synthetic materials in production such as elastin in heavier ribs. This allows the necks and cuffs of t-shirts and sweaters to remain tighter for longer.

Our garment labels are made from 100% recycled polyester however, we are working towards replacing these with organic cotton in the near future.

As we grow, we are looking to replace all synthetic materials with natural fibers whilst maintaining the same quality and lifespan as we have with synthetic materials.

VEGAN FRIENDLY
GEIST does not and will never utilise animal products in the production of our garments and accessories. This means materials like leather, wool, fur and silk will never be found in in any GEIST products.

QUANTITIES
To minimise the amount of waste that we generate as a fashion label, and to firmly separate ourselves from the world of fast-fashion, we produce much smaller quantities of our products. This has a substantial impact on our manufacturing costs, however it means not needing to have drastic discount sales to clear excess stock.

MANUFACTURING
We have spent years in R&D, working with factories from all over the world, looking to the right partners to create GEIST products.

All of our factories have provided us with their ethical credentials and certifications, however we also ensure they have an ‘open door’ policy. This means we can visit at any time to see our garments being made and to ensure that workers are being looked after and are operating in a clean and safe environment.

We endeavour to have our own certified ethical accreditations once we have scaled the business enough to make this feasible.

SWING TAGS
Our swing tags are made from FSC certified card without any coatings or laminates making them 100% recyclable.

PACKAGING
All GEIST products are shipped to us in Melbourne and then out to you in biodegradable, home-compostable garment bags. In addition, our mail satchels and freight labels are also made from biodegradable and home compostable material.

ACCESSORIES
We are working on a line of high-end accessories including belts and wallets that are made almost exclusively from natural, renewable and sustainable materials.

BANKING
This may seem like a strange one however many banks support companies and projects that do not align with our values. For this reason, we use Bank Australia - an ethical bank that has an ESG investing focus.
